Today marks a new era for Dreigiau Pro Cycling as the team's manager, Alex Fish, has acquired a wildcard, unlocking new features for the team.
"This is a wonderful first step for our little sprinting team," said Fish following his team's training ride earlier this morning on the streets of Cardiff, "and we now are looking forward to climbing the divisions and becoming a force in Welsh cycling."
Fish further went on to lay out his team's objectives for the coming seasons. These objectives are to get to division 4 as soon as possible, to build a solid economy, to produce riders to go on to the Welsh NT, and to become the number one ranked team in Wales.
"We want to get to division 4 because we think that that will serve as a good platform for us as we build our team towards success." said Fish, "We want to compete in tours for GC glory and become the top team in Wales, and hopefully one day get to the top division. We want to branch out with some climbers and TTers and become an all-around team and not just a sprinting team in the future as well. We have a long way to go, and a lot of hard work ahead of our young team, but I have faith in the lads."
Only time will tell if Dreigiau Pro Cycling can climb the ranks of Welsh cycling, and enter the annals of cycling history. With an ambitious manager in charge, anything is possible for this young sprinting team with loads of potential.
